Women’s Sewing Project
Sewing and textiles are very popular in Sri Lanka and for many it is a way of earning an income, either as a main occupation or as a supplement income.
At the very least it is a skill that reduces families’ expenses, producing the families’ clothes and other household items. We have been able to support a number of sewing groups over the past 3 years. We have now established links with Singer Company who are able to provide reasonable prices secondhand machines that are ideal for members of these groups to hone their skills. We are very grateful to Singer for they support.
